ASICS Takes on the Dad Sneaker with This Chunky GEL-Diablo

All-grey in “Carbon.”

Dad sneakers have undoubtedly been the biggest footwear trend of the last year and every brand seems to have put forward its own take on the style. If Balenciaga’s Triple-S‘ and Acne Studios’ Manhattan sneakers are a little too over-budget for you, perhaps the ASICS GEL-Diablo would be a more wallet-friendly alternative.

A remake of the classic ’90s silhouette, this GEL-Diablo in “Carbon” has a leather and mesh upper in varying grey tones with the iconic logo stripes seamlessly blending in on the lateral side. The sneaker is rounded off with ASICS branding on the heel and tongue but the real key detail is in that bulky, sculptured GEL-cushioned sole that adds a sneaky boost of height whist ensuring you stay effortlessly on-trend.

You can cop the GEL-Diablo “Carbon” at retailers like Naked for €135 EUR (approx. $162 USD). For inspo on how to wear dad sneakers, check out our Editor’s Style Guide.
