Chicago Through the Lens of Photographer Elizabeth De La Piedra
She takes HYPEBAE to the most photogenic places in the Windy City.
Elizabeth De La Piedra is one of our favorite people to follow on Instagram – and for good reason. Major style inspo aside, the account of the Australia-raised photographer is filled with adorable family pictures of herself, her two sons and her husband, artist and producer YehMe2. We often see the quartet doing all sorts of fun things in their home Chicago and thought, wouldn’t it be perfect to have Elizabeth show us around Chi-Town?
It wouldn’t be a proper tour without documenting it with photos. Taking her film camera along, Elizabeth has shown us some of the city’s finest hidden gems. From the scenic Garfield Park Conservatory to the over 30-year-old Neon Shop Fishtail, every spot has some kind of sentimental value to the creative. We’ve also stopped by Alcala’s, one of the largest Western wear stores in the Midwest, to try on its signature cowboy hats and boots. Watch the full video above and peep Elizabeth’s 35mm photos below.
To see more work from the photographer, head over to her website. Be sure to also check out our Toronto and Tokyo city guides.
You can shop Elizabeth’s look, including pieces from Places+Faces and Maison Kitsuné, at HBX.
