From beauty and skincare, to fashion and accessories, there’s a single mantra that I’ve definitely been trying to live by lately: less is more. Opting for minimalist pieces rather than flashy statement items, mixing and matching has never been more satisfying. For this week’s guide, I’m including some must-have selects that should definitely be in your wardrobe rotation this season. To keep you cozy all winter long, throw on Uniqlo U’s cashmere turtleneck sweater – the Steve Jobs look will never go out of style ($59.90 USD). Keeping it sleek, pair your top with a pair of fancy pants from Victoria Beckham (£425 GBP, approximately $570 USD).
I love the balance of high and low-brow, so I’d round the fit off with a pair of Nike Air Force 1s in “Triple White” ($90 USD). And of course, this wouldn’t be a minimalist list without an elegant Mansur Gavriel Mini Mini Bucket Bag ($435 USD). To brave the winter weather, don’t forget to keep a Chanel La Creme Main ($50 USD) and Glossier “Birthday” Balm Dotcom ($12 USD) inside your bag.
I’m someone who doesn’t wear a lot of color, and the minimalist look has always been one of my absolute favorites. Being Scandinavian, I guess that doesn’t really come as a surprise.
When it comes to simple, minimal designs I always look to Haider Ackermann for the perfect pieces. This blazer-style coat ($2,651 USD) can be worn as a heavier jacket, and it’s sleek look will instantly elevate your look. Pairing it with a perhaps the must-have piece for any minimalist; a simple, white dress-shirt ($372 USD), you’re pretty much ready to go. As for bottoms, I usually look to brands like COMME des GARÇONS or Damir Doma for the essentials, and these padded nylon trousers ($294 USD) are easy to wear and complete the look.
For shoes, my all-time favorite leather Marsèll boots ($584 USD) are essential for any minimal look. I complete the outfit with a simple silver bag from Weekday ($89 USD), and a matching Daniel Wellington watch ($159 USD) to balance it out.
This winter, I’ve been gravitating towards earthy hues like beige and dark green. These neutral colors are great to play with, especially on days when you want to stray away from black and white but still look clean and minimalist. I’ve been eyeing on this Mansur Gavriel cable knit turtleneck ($950 USD) for a while now, which I think would look amazing when paired tone-on-tone with this camel Everlane coat ($225 USD). For bottoms, these white, wide-legged corduroy pants from The Cords & Co ($160 USD) really completes the outfit. Keeping things simple and chic, I’ve opted for Vans‘ veg tan Old Skool’s ($80 USD) — the premium leather adds a luxury feel to the otherwise casual sneakers.
I can never leave home without my trusty A.P.C. Half-moon Bag ($419 USD), so that’s a given. To accessorize just a little bit, I’ve got this gold-tone, vintage CASIO watch ($52.5 USD) as well as these color-matching, chunky hoop earrings from Jennifer Fisher ($550 USD). This J. Hannah nail polish in “Ghost Ranch” ($19 USD) has been my current favorite and it’s seven-free, which is a huge plus. Don’t forget to tie everything together with a nude lip color. My personal choice is Glossier‘s Generation G lipstick in the shade “Like” ($18 USD). It’s super moisturizing and is a perfect my-lips-but-better color.
