Bernie Sanders Opens up About Being Balenciaga's Muse
The fashion world is still feeling the Bern.
Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign left many feeling inspired in more ways then one, like political activism. But in the case of Balenciaga’s Demna Gvasalia, it was enough to inspire his Fall/Winter 2017 collection and catapult the politician into fashion-icon status. On Sunday, Sanders appeared on State of the Union and although he did not share whether he liked the clothes, he did open up about his feelings on being Balenciaga’s muse when asked by host Jake Tapper.
“I think of my many attributes, being a great dresser or a fashion maven is not one of them,” Sanders modestly admitted. Regardless, he’ll always have a special place in fashion’s heart. Watch the interview above.
