UPDATE: Kanye West's YEEZY Season 5 Has Been Rescheduled
‘Ye and the CFDA have reached a deal.
Yesterday, it was reported that Kanye West did not consult the CFDA prior to announcing the date and time for his upcoming YEEZY Season 5 show. Originally scheduled for 5 p.m. on February 15, the rapper-slash-designer’s runway presentation happens to clash with that of another brand, Marchesa. The CFDA has since released a statement criticizing the musician’s “bad behavior,” adding that it “will not list Kanye West on the official [New York Fashion Week] schedule.”
About 24 hours after the news came out, ‘Ye has quickly worked with the CFDA to resolve the conflict by rescheduling his show to two hours earlier, that is 3 p.m. on February 15. Steven Kolb, president and chief executive officer of the CFDA explains in a statement,
Kanye called me personally to let me know that he had no intention of showing on top of another designer, and was unaware that there was a conflict. He explained that once he realized Marchesa was in the time slot, he immediately looked at alternative options. The CFDA appreciates Kanye’s outreach and effort, and we look forward to working with him far in advance to integrate Yeezy into the schedule in seasons to come.
The highly anticipated YEEZY Season 5 will take place at New York’s Pier 59 Studios. Be sure to stay with us for more updates.
