Your First Look at Chanel's New Handbag Ads Starring Pharrell Williams
Karl Lagerfeld has tapped the rapper to model the new Gabrielle bag.
After walking in Chanel‘s 2017 pre-fall runway show, Pharrell now makes history by becoming the first man ever to appear in a handbag campaign for the French luxury brand. Karl Lagerfeld has recently unveiled a first look at the upcoming advertisements, featuring the fashion house’s new Gabrielle bag.
Wearing a black tweed jacket and chains of necklaces, the rapper is seen wearing a crocodile version of the handbag at the backstage of a concert hall. As Lagerfeld tells WWD, the campaign reflects how the new bag can be worn in “many different circumstances” and even by a man.
The full campaign, which also features the likes of Kristen Stewart, Cara Delevingne and Caroline de Maigret, is set to launch worldwide on April 3. In the meantime, sneak a peek by browsing the gallery above and check out some behind-the-scenes images from Stewart’s shoot below.
