Wait, What? Cheetos Is Launching a Clothing and Accessories Line?
The “snackwear” range is designed to make Cheeto-eating easier.
In what may be described as the most bizarre fashion curveball of the year, Cheetos has just announced that it will be launching its very own clothing and accessories line. Working in tandem with Betabrand, the snack food company will be producing a “snackwear” range designed to make Cheeto-eating a little more tidy. Designed to withstand the mess of snacking, items in the collection include things such as a blazer with a “refillable pocket of cheese-dust cleaning napkins;” a pair of pants with “lapkins” (removable pieces of fabric on the lap that allow you to wipe your hands); a parasol with a “Cheetos pocket;” and a tie, suspenders and bow with secret compartments where you can hide your cheesy snacks.
For those looking to cop one (or some) of these eccentric pieces, however, there might be a bit of waiting. Although Betabrand is known to be a Kickstarter for clothing, not all of the proposed products are guaranteed to make it to the crowdfunding stage. For now, the company has put up a voting system to determine which Cheetos items will make it to production. The most popular ones will then become crowdfunding projects. Not that more motivation is needed, but those who vote will get 30% off their purchase of the goods. We have our fingers crossed for the “lapkin” pants.
