Uniqlo Announces Upcoming Collaboration with J.W.Anderson
British heritage and Japanese design collide.
Having already teamed up with Christophe Lemaire for its popular “Uniqlo U” line, the Japanese label now taps another luxury designer for its next collaboration with J.W.Anderson. The forthcoming range will include both men’s and women’s pieces, fusing Anderson’s hallmark British heritage influence with the Uniqlo LifeWear brand’s utilitarian fit, fabric and functionality. On the upcoming project, designer Jonathan Anderson comments:
Collaborations are incredibly important in design. When I think of Uniqlo, I think of things that are perfectly made, that people have spent a lot of time considering; it’s a difficult job, and I think Uniqlo does it very well. Working with Uniqlo is probably the most incredible template of democracy in fashion, and it’s nice that my design can be accessible to anyone, on all different levels.
The J.W.Anderson x Uniqlo collection is set to hit Uniqlo locations in-store and online for the 2017 fall/winter season. In the meantime, don’t forget to check out the KAWS x Peanuts x Uniqlo capsule that is set to drop on April 28.
