Take a Closer Look at the Coveted OFF-WHITE "Binder Clip" Bag
It stole our hearts this season.
We called it — OFF-WHITE’s “Binder Clip” bag is one of the most coveted of the season. Virgil Abloh first unveiled the piece ahead of his 2017 spring/summer show before making select styles available on a see-now-buy-now basis that underwent restocks thereafter. Along with the solid red, black and white colors is a bold, black-and-white striped version which is almost similar in aesthetic to the extra-large “Diag Spray Cut Flap” bag we recently began obsessing over. Where the tote uses a spray-paint touch, this one gets the signature diagonal lines with a cleaner finish.
A closer look at the “Binder Clip” bag makes apparent Abloh’s dedication to the details. He has a knack for changing the perception of what some might see as mundane, and here the office binder clip becomes the centerpiece of the design. It’s complemented with other silver hardware with embossed branding, including hardware bolts on each side. The repurposing of the “TIE DOWN” industrial belt as a purse strap is a real draw to the design, and is also interchangeable with a black strap that gets cut-out diagonals.
