Jess Connelly Battles Her Feelings in Eyedress' "High Street Drive By"
“Should I take a rest or invest in you?”
Manila-based artist Eyedress teams up with compatriot Jess Connelly for an emotional ballad. Connelly narrates the demise of a broken relationship on the song’s hook lamenting its demise. Coming ahead of Eyedress’ sophomore project Manila Ice, “High Street Drive By” illustrates the pain and loneliness Eyedress suffered as a young person on the streets of Manila.
Set in Manila’s Selfie Museum, the fish-eye lensed video supports the syrupy sadness of Connelly’s voice. She sings: “Told you I hate you but I can’t replace you and now I been crashing all day.” Manila Ice, set to release on May 12, will chronicle Eyedress’ journey as a misfit and new father.
