Halima Aden Lands Her First 'Vogue' Cover
She continues to shatter stereotypes on ‘Vogue’ Arabia.
Hijabi Halima Aden is redefining what it means to be a model one photo at a time. Vogue Arabia has announced via Instagram that the 19-year-old Somali model has been tapped as the 2017 June cover star. After stealing the show at the YEEZY Season 5 presentation, the five-foot, five-inch Minnesota dweller has gained global attention for sporting her headscarf on the runway and preaching a message of self-acceptance.
Next month’s spread includes an “All Eyes on Halima” editorial in which she wears pieces from Dior and Max Mara. The publication has yet to announce when the issue will hit newsstands but it should be arriving soon. In the mean time, catch a glimpse of the shoot below.
