The New MARIEYAT Collection Takes Inspo From Female Japanese Divers

Make a splash.

London-based lingerie brand MARIEYAT is back with a third collection, and this time it’s diving into the world of swimwear. While the designer took inspiration from the Japanese art of Kintsugi last season, she looked to the practice of “free-diving” this time round. It’s traditionally conducted by all-female Ama divers in the pursuit of pearls.

The collection comprises of MARIEYAT’s trademark deconstructed lingerie styles in swim-ready versions, as well as new functional and versatile styles of underwear. Key shapes include the “Ama” thong which is inspired by the Japanese Fundoshi loincloth and the “Float” brief which features a belt detailing similar to that worn by Ama divers.

Preview the lookbook above and search for global stockists on MARIEYAT’s website.
