Takashi Murakami's Iconic Flowers Come Alive in These New Facebook Filters

When selfies become works of art.

In celebration of his retrospective exhibition at Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art, Takashi Murakami and the museum have collaborated with Facebook on a series of interactive filters for the Messenger app.

Featuring the Japanese artist’s signature motifs including his smiling flowers, these special frames are created to make communication on the social media platform all the more playful and fun. Users can now choose among three Murakami-themed designs to decorate their photos and videos. Peep the image above to see it for yourself.

Takashi Murakami: The Octopus Eats Its Own Leg is now opened to public and will be running through September 24. Head to MCA’s website for more information.
