Denim Reaches New Extremes in SJYP's 2017 Fall Lookbook

A deconstructed dream.

The Korean label SJYP was founded by IRL couple Steve J and Yoni P a decade ago and it’s gone from strength to strength ever since with a personal brand of effortlessly cool, cutting-edge streetwear. For 2017 fall, SJYP is focusing heavily on denim again but this time it’s referencing the fabric’s cowboy roots while bringing a touch of the avant-garde showmanship the brand is known for.

Think oversized, longline denim jackets with contrasting patches of denim scattered across the upper, straight-leg jeans with deconstructed paneling and hems that range from subtly split to exaggerated frays and extreme peplums. Alongside the experimental denim pieces are garments that can be worn everyday – grungy sweaters and daytime dresses. The standout look for us, however, is the red leather-look jacket with a frilled collar and star detailing that’s definitely more catwalk than Coyote Ugly. Peep the full lookbook above while you wait for the collection to drop this fall.
