Apple’s next iPhone will include a facial recognition feature that will allow you to unlock your phone with no hands needed. Developers found the code needed for users’ faces to be screened – it’s similar to the infrared technology that was previously in place for fingerprint scanning.
In addition, rumors of a HomePod smart speaker have also been revealed. A specific sequence, referred to as “Pearl” ID, suggests that the iPhone 8 will include the firmware necessary to allow smart interaction with the HomePod. The extent to which it will work is still unconfirmed, but the detail is exciting nonetheless.
Techies, take a look below to explore the code for yourself.
