Goodbye Body Shamers: Ashley Graham Wants Curvy Girls to Know They're Beautiful
The supermodel gets real about body image with ‘New York Magazine.’
Ashley Graham isn’t here for your hateful judgements. As the cover girl of New York Magazine‘s 2017 September issue, the supermodel and body activist candidly discusses what she’s best known for: her curves, and of course, her confidence.
“That’s something I’ve always been told: ‘You’re not good enough because you’re plus-size.’” From having no designers willing to dress her, to becoming the first model of her size to land Vogue‘s cover in 125 years, the 29-year-old Graham has definitely come a long way. And her mission to shifting industry norms continues:
This is the thing: I know I’m paving the way for the next generation of girls, and they’re not going to have to do this. That’s what I hope. I’ll take the brunt work and just handle it, and then you guys can just sail right on through.
