Cara Delevingne Talks Self-Love and Being a Positive Role Model
“Emotions and vulnerability are important.”
Cara Delevingne wants you to know that it’s okay to not feel okay sometimes. With her young adult novel Mirror, Mirror coming out in October, the supermodel and Valerian actress has recently spoken to ELLE UK about the most difficult time of her life so far: teenage years.
“It felt like I was completely alone and I couldn’t express myself because I felt ashamed of my emotions,” the 25-year-old explains. “I want to make sure that kids realise that emotions and vulnerability are important and should be spoken about.”
Through creative writing, the runway star hopes to extend her connection with teenagers who’re struggling with their lives:
When you’re a teenager you’re all looking for someone to idolise. Seeing the effect people like me have on teenagers now has made me conscious of kids having strong, positive role models who are trying to do good outside of themselves.
