Cardi B Is the First Woman to Break 2014 Billboard Record
“Bodak Yellow” surpasses Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda.”
If you haven’t heard Cardi B‘s “Bodak Yellow” perhaps you’ve been living under a rock. The catchy track was released by the Bronx MC ahead of her ucoming mixtape as a gift to her fans for their never-ending support. The single took off and has been climbing the charts all summer summiting Billboard’s Hot 100 chart at No 14. A song from a woman artist has not charted this high since Nicki Minaj’s sample-driven “Anaconda.”
The brash track is also surging on the Streaming Songs charts — a feat for a novice performer to achieve. Trends show that this won’t be the peak for the track as all data points to another surge. Even Drake couldn’t resist bringing her out to the annual OVO Fest, where she shared the stage with the likes of Travis Scott, the Migos and the Boy himself.
Keep an eye on the young star.
