Take a Trip Inside Happy Socks' Colorful Stockholm HQ
It’s never a dull day in the “Happy House.”
Happy Socks is a brand built on the very idea of wild and wacky; colorful right to its very core. So it seems fitting that its HQ should embody that too, right? A mammoth 6-story building painted sunshine yellow, it’s impossible to miss – especially as it stands out amongst the more traditional buildings it’s nestled between. There used to be the brands’ trademark “Big Dot” pattern adorning the facade in pastel shades, but that was deemed a little too eccentric for the conservative neighbours and they were forced to have it removed. Now, there’s just a single jazzy Happy Socks flag that protrudes high upon the building, declaring this a state of happiness for anyone who enters.
The interior of former Chinese embassy building in the Östermalm district of Stockholm, Sweden, is just as fitting – think scandi-cool furniture and concept lighting offset by vivid color schemes and clashing prints. The airy office space is flooded with natural light and the abundance of plants adds a calming feel. Images and products from some of their most diverse collaborations – including ones with Iris Apfel and Billionaire Boys Club – line the walls as a reminder that this cool company have joined forces with some of the most celebrated creatives in the world.
The self-proclaimed “Happy House” is the central hub of all things Happy Socks – it’s here that the production and design divisions dream up their new lines of bold and fun-filled products and this very building also contains a photo studio, showroom and in-house creative agency (The Happy Agency). Alongside all of this, the headquarters has it’s very own roof terrace overlooking the city and a cute garden area, lined of course with vibrant yellow walls – the Happy Socks motto is, after all, “All play, no work,” but they seem to have conjured up a way to balance both perfectly.
