Nike Covers the Air Max 97 LX in Over 55,000 Swarovski Crystals
A starlit “Silver Bullet.”
Nike has adorned the Air Max 97 LX in Swarovski crystals to celebrate the silhouette’s 20th anniversary. Last March saw the black pair, with a jewel-encrusted upper we couldn’t look away from. Now, comes the ”Silver Bullet” iteration – when light hits its form, the crystals reflect off for a mesmerizing effect.
Nike Material Design Director Marie Crow shares the ideation behind the sparkly pair:
“This was such an exciting project in terms of material innovation. We were looking to explore shine and durability in a new and innovative way, and we loved the juxtaposition of the Crystal Fabric’s tough sparkle to reinvent an already iconic shoe.”
