Coinciding with its forthcoming T-shirt retrospective at Dover Street Market, Stussy will be releasing a 240-page super book in tandem with IDEA that chronicles the skatewear brand’s sprawling history of tees. The book entitled “An IDEA Book About T-Shirts by Stussy” will be comprised of an essay, interviews and editorial by celebrated lensman Ari Marcopoulos, as well as a series of photographs by other leading photographers such as Alasdair McLellan, Amy Troost, Collier Schorr, Dan Martensen, Daniel Jackson, Glen Luchford, Inez & Vinoodh, Josh Olins, Mario Sorrenti, Terry Richardson and Willy Vanderperre. The title will also include an extensive archive section with both iconic and unseen images from Stussy, collected over the past 38 years.
The Stussy x DSM T-Shirt Retrospective itself will showcase a selection of reissued vintage graphics from Stussy’s archive, as well as two collaborative shirts that celebrate both brands. The Retrospective will launch on Friday, August 25 at all DSM locations – DSM London will be holding a special exhibition of exclusive Stussy Archive T-shirts. “An IDEA Book About T-Shirts by Stussy” and collaborative Stussy tees with both DSM and IDEA will be available starting August 25 at all Stussy chapter stores, as well as stussy.com.
