FYI, You Can Now Buy Uniqlo Clothes from Vending Machines

Cozy thermals at the push of a button.

Vending machines are usually where you’d head to get a quick sugar fix – whether it’s candy, soda or ice cream – they’re not normally seen as the go-to destination to pick up some new threads, but Uniqlo is challenging that ideal.

In an effort to boost its sales stateside, the innovative Japanese brand is installing bespoke vending machines in airports and malls across key areas in the U.S., including California, New York and Texas. The first one was unveiled at Oakland Airport, where passengers were able to pick up some Uniqlo essentials, like thermals and jackets, at the touch of a button. If the vending machine retail method proves to be popular, Uniqlo may well roll out this concept internationally. No concrete plans have been made for the expansion yet, but stay tuned for further details.
