Mid-Autumn Festival Goes Camo with These BAPE & AAPE Mooncakes
Can you guess what shape the festive treats are?
Having already seen the beautifully intricate Lady M mooncake set, BAPE and diffusion label AAPE By A Bathing Ape now put their own spins on the classic Mid-Autumn Festival treat. For BAPE’s offering, a limited edition metallic lunchbox is completely dipped in a camouflage print, with the iconic bathing ape logo emblazoned across the front. The mini mooncakes themselves are of the contemporary egg custard variety, a twist on the traditional recipe typically made from lotus seeds. The festive treats themselves are also specially designed for the offering, with each shaped in a minimalistic rendition of the bathing ape logo.
Alternatively for the AAPE version, the set comes in a sleek, translucent case that showcases the brand’s unmistakable camouflage print on each cake’s individual packaging. Inside, four individual boxes – also adorned in the distinct camo motif – houses the custom mooncakes.
The AAPE mooncakes are currently available at all Hong Kong locations, gifted for free with each purchase exceeding $2,500 HKD (approximately $320 USD) for select items. The BAPE mooncake gift set will be available on September 2, free with every purchase of $6,000 HKD or above (approximately $767 USD).
