Kendall Jenner Opens up About Pepsi Ad: "I Feel Like My Life Is Over"
The model speaks on the controversy for the first time.
In April, Kendall Jenner was the subject of major scrutiny after starring in a Pepsi commercial in which she handed a police officer a can of soda and successfully diffused the surrounding tension in a protest situation. Critics accused the model and the beverage company, who later pulled the ad, of making light of and commercializing the efforts of social justice groups like Black Lives Matter.
“Clearly we missed the mark,” Pepsi said in a statement, “And we apologize.” Kendall had yet to say anything about the incident, but in a promo for the upcoming season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, she opens up about having to deal with the ad’s aftermath by telling Kim Kardashian, “It feels like my life is over.”
“You made a mistake,” Kim responds. Let’s just hope it’s been a lesson learned.
