Did Sami Miro Just Rip Off This Indie Designer for Her Forever 21 Collection?

Let the photos speak for themselves.

Over the years, Forever 21 has managed to build itself a notorious reputation for shamelessly copying other brands’ designs. From Fenty PUMA to Emily Oberg‘s Sporty & Rich line, the fast-fashion company has been guilty of several design thefts. And now, its latest collaboration with Sami Miro is under fire for stealing design elements from UK brand, Freckled Ace.

Taking to social media, Freckled Ace designer Betsy Johnson alleges that Miro and Forever 21 have ripped off her line, adding that she’s previously gifted Miro a few pieces from her brand:

SO: I contacted sami miro in June to gift her some pieces from @freckledace , she accepted. I was very excited to see her in the collection. However @samimiro new collection with @forever21 is at the very least very similar.

While Freckled Ace’s crop tops boast a ’90s-inspired thorn print — as opposed to barbed wire in Miro’s new drop — the motifs from the two collections look oddly similar. According to Johnson, however, Miro has ignored her messages on the image-sharing app and has since blocked her account.

Take a look at the comparison images below and let us know what you think in the comments section.
