Supreme Teams Up With Controversial Artist Andres Serrano for a Collaboration
Featuring three of Serrano’s pieces.
After Supreme’s surprise collaboration with HYSTERIC GLAMOUR last week the brand is back with yet another collab, this time with artist and photographer Andres Serrano.
Born 1950 in New York City, Serrano was raised a strict Roman Catholic. He’s known for his unique interpretation of religion by juxtaposing religious imagery with blood, urine and other bodily fluids, and many of his pieces have caused major controversy. His most infamous piece – Piss Christ – depicts a crucifix submerged in the artist’s own urine, and lead to Christian protestors vandalising his work, as well as several death threats and denouncement by US Senators.
Supreme is collaborating with the artist, and incorporating three of Serrano’s pieces: Piss Christ, Madonna &; Child II and Blood and Semen II. The collection includes hoodies, sweatshirts, sweatpants, T-Shirts as well as a Vans collaboration of the Sk8-Hi, Chukka and Old Skool with the Blood and Semen II print.
