Tom Ford's 2018 Spring Collection Is A "F*cking Fabulous" Display of Women's Tailoring
The power suit makes a comeback
Tom Ford‘s 2018 spring presentation was set at the Park Avenue Armory — an appropriate venue for the line of structured styles that graced the catwalk. Guests received bottles of the designer’s latest fragrance, Fucking Fabulous, which set the tone for the adapted menswear that Ford debuted. Inspired by the design of his men’s suits, Ford constructed jackets with pronounced shoulders and exaggerated lapels that match the industry’s trend towards unusual silhouettes. These strong garments are paired with slouchy pants and mini skirts to add a feminine flair reminiscent of his previous work with Saint Laurent. Models Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner led the procession of evening gowns that heavily reference ’70s glam.
The presentation overall was a return to Ford’s strength of tailoring and garment innovation. Take a look at the full collection above.
