Visvim's Spring/Summer 2018 Collection Is an Earthy Dream

Inspired by classic Americana combined with Japanese techniques.

Visvim‘s Spring/Summer 2018 collection features an earthy, organic color palette with a unique vintage feel.

Originally a menswear brand, Visvim established a womens line only four years ago, and this season the founder Hiroki Nakamura has designed the collection alongside his wife. Featuring everything from denim to fringe pants, it is clear that the house channelled classic Americana as a main source of inspiration. The collection also incorporated key elements from Japanese culture, which can be seen in pieces like the re-imagined Kimono and the traditional wooden sandals.

Nakamura has made an effort to partner with small, local ateliers to keep the Japanese techniques alive, which were used throughout the making. The designer employed a classic Japanese print-making technique in the collection, which can be seen in one of the dresses.
