It’s no secret that Vogue is the most prolific fashion magazine in history. In fact, this year marks the title’s 125th anniversary which is especially impressive given the recent tumultuous decline in print media.
Speaking about the longevity of Vogue and how it’s reinvented itself and remained relevant for such a vast period of time, editor-in-chief Anna Wintour sai,d “I think what you have to do in print is to create even more memorable images and more memorable pieces because what one consumes online or in social has a much shorter shelf life, so to speak, so what print has to have is no more weight, but it has to be something that you can’t find so easily online. It has to really stand for print.”
In honor of its anniversary, Vogue has teamed up with various brands to create limited-edition Vogue-branded products. You may have already spotted the rainbow-toned capsule collection in collaboration with KITH, which featured a line of vivid, co-branded hoodies and sweatshirts — but that’s not the only merch the publishing powerhouse is rolling out. It’s also produced a long-sleeve top with Hood by Air that features the slogan “Never Trust a Vogue Girl,” as well as T-shirts made in collaboration with Marni, Rodarte and Proenza Schouler. Alongside all of this, there’s a selection of Marni tote bags, a COMME des GARÇONS floral clutch, two custom drinks by the Pressed Juicery, a rose-themed Birchbox and even an actual real life rose in a timeless shade of peach.
