Hedi Slimane Unveils His First CELINE Womenswear Campaign
Lensed by the designer himself.
Following the debut of CELINE‘s first-ever menswear campaign earlier in November, Hedi Slimane now returns with his premier womenswear campaign for the fashion house. Similar to the men’s campaign, the new female-focused one has also been shot by the designer himself, who has never been shy to get behind the camera for his fashion campaigns.
In the past, Slimane had received criticism for his seemingly homogeneous use of models that perpetuated an unchanging mood: skinny, mostly white girls who oozed a distinct passion for all-night partying filled with plenty of cigarettes smoked during rock noir shows. Unsurprisingly, the new campaign is no different. Mirroring the glitz of Slimane past with sequin dresses, unkempt hair and black-and-white photography, the new campaign is pretty much exactly what we expected. To confirm our thoughts, the campaign is aptly titled, “PARIS LA NUIT: JOURNAL NOCTURNE DE LA JEUNESSE PARISIENNE.”
You can view the full campaign in the gallery above. CELINE’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection is slated to drop in-store on February 2019. For more from the fashion house, don’t miss its forthcoming selection of luxe jewelry pieces.
