Missguided's Diverse Mannequins Embrace Stretchmarks, Vitiligo and More
Retailers, take note.
Missguided’s “Make Your Mark” campaign, celebrating womens natural bodies was a social media hit last year, and followed the brands announcement that they would cease airbrushing its model’s stretchmarks. Now the British company is going one step above this by introducing a diverse lineup of mannequins into its physical UK stores.
The body-positive mannequins, which can be seen in the Westfield Stratford City and Bluewater stores in London and Kent, showcase a diverse range of ethnicities and include natural, yet rarely represented, body features like stretch marks, freckles and vitiligo. Whilst it’s worth noting that these mannequins aren’t exactly diverse in terms of size, it remains a step in the right direction and other retailers should surely be taking note.
