Starbucks Welcomes the Sakura Season with More Pink Drinks
And a huge collection of cherry blossom tumblers and mugs.
For those who’ve visited Japan during springtime, you’ll know how much the nation enjoys the cherry blossom season. Getting into the festive spirit, Starbucks Japan is introducing a lineup of special, pink-hued beverages, in addition to the Sakura Caramel Milk Chilled Cup that will be for sale at convenient stores.
One of the new additions to the menu is the Sakura Strawberry Pink Mochi Frappuccino, which is an Instagram-friendly drink that fuses floral and fruity flavors, and sees a glutinous texture thanks to the mochi rice cakes. There’s also the Sakura Strawberry Pink Milk Latte for those who prefer something warmer. If milky drinks are quite your thing, then you might like the Sakura Strawberry Pink Tea — it’s the first tea-based sakura treat that Starbucks has ever served.
Additionally, the coffee chain will be releasing a massive range of sakura-themed drinkware. Similar to its Valentine’s Day offering, the new collection features a unifying millennial pink color scheme. Divided into two capsules, namely “Looking Back” and “Looking Forward,” the launch will feature not only tumblers, glasses and mugs, but also other goodies like notebooks and gift-wrapping cloths.
Fans can expect to try out the new drinks at Starbucks’ Japan locations from February 15 to March 14. The “Looking Back” merch will be available for purchase in-stores beginning February 15, while the “Looking Forward” range will drop on February 28.
