NICE GIRL Is the New Experimental Brand You Need on Your Radar
“Jealous bitches finish never.”
The Vancouver streetwear scene is definitely one to watch. With local brands like Frankie Collective and Reigning Champ, as well as boutiques such as 017, Roden Gray and Livestock, the vibrant west coast Canadian city has so much to offer in the fashion and style category. The latest to join the party is unisex label NICE GIRL.
Founded by creative director Angela Donna, who previously worked at Frankie Collective alongside Sara Gourlay, NICE GIRL is an experimental brand that transforms wardrobe basics into statement pieces through the use of unique materials — think hoodies, tank tops and tees emblazoned with 3M reflective logos. The name of NG stems from an original quote “Jealous bitches finish never,” which ended up becoming the brand’s tag line and can be seen from one of its T-shirt designs.
Following the launch of its debut collection via a pop-up last December, NICE GIRL has hosted its first-ever casting call in Vancouver. Photographer Tianna Franks and videographer Briggs Ogloff perfectly captured the entire casting process, which featured a dynamic group of personalities including DJ Syd Woz, model Reina Silva and more. “NICE GIRL is as much of a community and roster as it is a brand,” Angela tells us.
