Here's What Went Down at the adidas Originals ARKYN #TLKS Event in London
A discussion with women in the creative industries.
As part of the launch of it’s new ARKYN silhouette, adidas Originals brought together a panel of diverse, creative women for a panel discussion in the brand’s Hanbury Street store in East London.
Panellists included television and Radio 1 presenter Maya Jama, founder and director of Fashion East & Man Lulu Kennedy, founder of creative consultancy Mandi’s Basement Mandi Lennard, and co-founder of creative agency Babyface Nellie Eden. The talk, which centered around women in the creative industries, was moderated by DJ and broadaster Jamz Supernova.
Topics like the gender pay gap and the pros and cons of social media – both of which are highly relevant cultural talking points at the moment were also discussed, as was the ways in which the creative industries have changed over the years and have become a more open place to women of various different skills and backgrounds. After the discussion, the floor was open to questions and attendees enjoyed a drinks, a DJ-set and a close-up look at the ARKYN sneakers.
