CALVIN KLEIN 205W39NYC Just Dropped a Collection of Must-Have Eyewear
The Raf Simons vision.
In August 2016, Raf Simons was appointed Chief Creative Officer at American label CALVIN KLEIN, and has since produced a series of Americana-inspired collections, eye-catching runway shows and created a new, must-have aesthetic for the brand. Now, the designer has just dropped a collection of eyewear under the recently restructured CALVIN KLEIN 205W39NYC branding. “Raf Simons’ powerful brand vision is driving CALVIN KLEIN forward around the world, category by category,” said the brand’s CEO Steve Shiffman, and emphasized the push to create and grow the eyewear range.
The Spring/Summer 2018 release includes both sunglasses as well as optical eyewear, complementing Simons’ ready-to-wear collections perfectly. Rendered in materials like titanium and striated acetate, the elevated frames combine delicate materials with architectural-inspired designs and fuse retro and modern aesthetics together into one. Standout pieces from the collection include the bold mirrored lenses, contrasted with a thick blue frame, as well as the brand’s new signature “fly-away” bridge.
The new CALVIN KLEIN 205W39NYC line is available in select high-end department stores and luxury boutiques, including Dover Street Market and Harvey Nichols. You can also get your hands on the collection at the CALVIN KLEIN global flagship store on Madison Avenue in New York, as well as online at calvinklein.com. The eyewear pieces are set to retail between $425 and $525 USD. Take a look at all the eyewear below, and peep the campaign lensed by Willy Vanderperre above.
