Just a few weeks ago, Seoul-native eyewear brand Gentle Monster teamed up with London-based luxury retailer Selfridges to debut its sleek collection with the theme “Traders.” Now the eyewear label has just embarked on a new partnership with Dover Street Market New York, marking their first collaborative pop-up installation, titled “Passengers.”
One of the main pieces that will be showcased at the pop-up is the brand’s exclusive limited-edition black and gold “Cobalt” sunglasses. The oval-shaped lenses sit inside a gold thin metal frame, creating a retro yet wearable silhouette that is right on trend. Additionally, the shades feature transparent nose pads as well as translucent acetate temple tips to ensure comfortability while wearing it.
The theme of the new store space is based on a crew of extraterrestrial creatures that are on a journey throughout space – A concept created by Gentle Monster. Inside the pop-up, the brand brings this concept to life by creating an illustration of the crew as they wonder through an unexplored place as seen below.
