BLACKPINK's Lisa Is the Next Celeb to Endorse Hedi Slimane's Celine Handbag

First Lady Gaga, now the K-pop star is also gifted the 16 Bag.

Hedi Slimane is clearly doing things differently compared to Celine‘s former creative director Phoebe Philo. Aside from the obvious (the controversial removal of the accent over the é in the brand’s logo, that is), the French designer has also been tapping a number of high-profile celebrities to help debut and promote his first Celine handbag design, the 16.

After Lady Gaga and Angelina Jolie, the Parisian luxury fashion house has gifted one of K-pop group BLACKPINK‘s members Lisa the same black leather carryall. Just days prior to Slimane’s debut runway show for Celine, the “DDU-DU DDU-DU” star has taken to her Instagram account to show off her new handbag with a number of posts and Stories. Like Lady Gaga‘s version, Lisa’s arm candy is completed with a hanging luggage tagged emblazoned with her initials “L.M.”

On Septmber 28, Hedi Slimane will be presenting his first-ever collection for Celine during Paris Fashion Week. While it remains to be seen how Slimane will continue to shake up the brand, it’s recently revealed that the Spring/Summer 2019 show will be held at the Hôtel des Invalides, the same venue for the designer’s Fall 2014 Saint Laurent men’s show. Keep your eyes peeled for more from the new era of Celine.
