COMME des GARÇONS x Nike's Cortez Platform Sneakers Are Available Online Now

UPDATE (November 20, 2018): COMME des GARÇONS x Nike’s Cortez Platform is now available, at COMME des GARÇONS Hilton Hotel, Singapore boutique retailing for $760 SGD (approximately $554 USD).
You may remember that a few months ago, COMME des GARÇONS debuted some super-high platform Nike Cortez sneakers on the runway at Paris Fashion Week. Since then, we’ve all been eagerly awaiting details on their release, as well as a closer look – which we’ve finally been blessed with.
Close-up images of the striped version are the only ones that have surfaced so far, and they show the classic ’70s silhouette in a monochromatic finish. The shoe is mostly constructed of white leather upper with matching laces, which is contrasted by a stark black Swoosh on the sidewall and COMME des GARÇONS branding on the insole. Black branding on the heel and tongue add to the look but the real statement-maker is the unmissable, striped midsole that’s stacked to an extreme height – offering a whole new take on the oversized sneaker trend.
