Irene Kim x Joshua Sanders' Chunky '90s Sneaker Collab Finally Gets a Release Date

The footwear and apparel collection is dropping sooner than you think.

UPDATE: Having already gotten an exclusive first look at Irene Kim’s forthcoming sneaker collaboration with Joshua Sanders, we now receive word of a confirmed drop date – and it’s sooner than you think. Slated to launch on March 7, the chunky ’90s Zenith iterations will arrive at select stockists such as HBX, Lane Crawford and SSENSE. You can take an updated look at the full collection in the gallery below.

Last year, Irene Kim styled her own take on Joshua Sanders’ FLY TO sneaker and now the duo have reunited, only this time for an actual collaboration. The South Korean creative entrepeneur and the Italian brand have teamed up for a collection that comprises of three updates to the chunky, ’90s Zenith sneaker, as well as matching apparel.

Inspired by unicorns, the sneakers are fittingly reinterpreted in pastel, candy-toned colors, with metallic swipes of pink, lilac and light green respectively appearing above the midsole. The rest of the leather upper is predomoniantly white, save for the metallic accents around the lacing unit and the hiking-esque cord laces. Joshua Sanders‘ embroidered ‘JOSHUAS’ text sits upon the heel and Kim‘s mantra “GOOD FOR YOU” appears on the tongue, complemented by a cartoon unicorn motif. Alongside the bulky kicks, the duo have unveiled a set of hoodies and sweatpants – available in bright pink and soft grey-white shades. Perfect for staying cozy in the colder months, these sporty sets feature retro embroidery referencing both brands on the chest and leg, cuffed wrists and hiking cord drawstrings. Discussing the unique partnership, Kim shared:

“I was so excited and honored to have been part of this collaboration. I adore JOSHUAS and their vision so I knew that we could develop a collection that illustrates the best of IRENEISGOOD Label and JOSHUAS. As streetwear, travels, art, and fashion are huge influences in my daily life, I wanted to incorporate these elements with the IRENEISGOOD touch. Joshua Sanders’ Creative Director Vittorio Cordella, who is also a dear friend and supporter of all things good and creative, is such an inspiration. He is an absolute innovator when it comes to his craft. With tones of playfulness and free spirits in our collection, our synergy has made this collaboration even more special. It has been nothing but a pleasure and I am so excited for everyone to enjoy what we created.”

Get a first-look at the collection in the gallery above; it’s due to release at select stockists soon so stay tuned for updates. In the meantime, check out Joshua Sanders’ neoprene Zenith sneakers.
