An Exclusive Look at Tayla Parx's Reebok "Alter the Icons" Campaign
The songwriter behind Ariana Grande’s “thank, u next” on what being an artist truly means.
Reebok ambassador Tayla Parx stars in the brand’s latest Spring/Summer 2019 “Alter the Icons” campaign. Alongside the campaign images, a short film is also released in which the multi-hyphenate shares how she redefines herself on a daily basis. In the imagery and the video, she sports the Reebok Classic Leather ATI 90S silhouette.
In the clip, she expresses that she began her entertainment career as an actress. She then goes on to speak about how her ambition led her to alter her path and redefine what an “artist” truly means. Recently Parx became the first female songwriter to have three simultaneous top 10 songs — Ariana Grande‘s “7 rings,” “thank u, next,” and Panic! At The Disco’s “High Hopes” in the Billboard Hot 100 since 2014. Additionally, she was nominated for her contributions to Janelle Monae‘s Dirty Computer, which was up for Album of the Year at the 2019 Grammys.
Parx shared how her approach to making music allows her room to express herself in an official statement:
“Beyond the music, being an artist allows me to be able to emote emotions through my style as well. It means everything to be able to always be authentically me. My biggest influences sonically and visually come from the places I travel, Korea, London, Paris and so many other places I’ve been really opened my eyes to different ways to express myself.”
