Rihanna's FENTY Releases First Campaign, "Release 5-19"

Find out when you can purchase the drop.

UPDATE: After unveiling the first-ever campaign video for FENTY, the luxury fashion house helmed by Rihanna unveils its first campaign images. Shot by Glen Luchford, the images feature the “Release 5-19,” a collection that sets the tone for the forthcoming drops from the brand.

“Release 5-19” is marked by strong tailoring as seen in the oversized jackets and additional pieces created with exaggerated tailoring. Throughout the images, it becomes clear that Rihanna’s versatile personal style was an inspiration for the line. This rings loudly in the eyewear, strappy leather sandals and form-fitting separates. Dancing between the line of masculinity and femininity will be a staple for the house, according to an official press release.

Fenty’s “Release 5-19” will be available on May 29 via the digital flagship at FENTY.com. Take a look at the “Release 5-19” campaign in the gallery above.

After releasing a first look at her upcoming luxury fashion line FENTY, Rihanna rolls out the first campaign film for the brand. The video features an assortment of models in pieces the singer wore throughout her recent New York Times digital profile which included leather sandals, a light pink corset blazer dress and more. According to an official press release, you can look forward to ready-to-wear, accessories, footwear and eyewear from the LVMH-owned house.

Since the brand identity is intrinsically tied to Rihanna’s versatile style, it comes as no surprise that she is the creative director. It’s also important to note that her stylist Jahleel Weaver serves as the label’s style director. Key pieces in the campaign include white separates such as an oversized denim jacket and additional all-white outerwear selections. Rih also makes an appearance in the campaign, she’s seen wearing a dark blue corset dress created with Japanese denim.

In the previously mentioned release, the global star shares her thoughts on the highly anticipated launch of the brand:

“Women are forces of this earth. We are multifaceted, complex, vulnerable yet bulletproof, and FENTY speaks to all of our intricacies. Some days I want to be submissive, many days I’m completely in charge and most days I feel like being both….so it was imperative that we created a line versatile enough to embrace and celebrate us in that way. The collections are easily worn together and meant to be staples in our wardrobe. I’m just hyped to see people in my clothes, man.”

Fenty will officially launch on May 29 at FENTY.com. Stay tuned here as additional news becomes available on the fashion house’s first drop. Check out the campaign below.
