A Closer Look at Jackson Wang x Fendi's Capsule Collection

Launching with an adorable panda exhibition.

UPDATE (July 29, 2019): Following the recent launch of Jackson Wang x Fendi‘s capsule collection, we now take a closer look at the products in the line. Entirely monochrome in black, the range includes apparel as well as a Baguette bag, air cushion slides, a low-top sock runner and cap. Scroll through the gallery below to see the Fendi FF-stamped collection.

Fendi just launched a café and customizable Peekaboo bar in London, and now the luxury brand is back with another interactive project. The Italian maison will be releasing a capsule collection with singer-rapper Jackson Wang featuring apparel, shoes and accessories.

Making his debut with JYP Korean boy group Got7 in 2014, the Hong Kong artist became well-known in the K-pop scene and then rose to individual fame on Korean variety shows. He released his first solo album in China in 2015, and later on paired up with producer Boytoy to collaborate with Fendi China on a chart-topping song, “Fendiman.”

Already a brand ambassador for Fendi in China, the musician is now releasing his own capsule collection. The monochrome range includes a formal suit as well as other street-ready pieces such as jumpers, T-shirts, pants and caps. Most of the collection is printed with black-on-black FF logo print and texturized with velvet and chenille fabrics. Additionally, Jackson Wang has designed his own low-top sock runner sneakers and air-cushion slides as well as a clutch and Baguette bag in black leather. Everything in the collection is stamped with a special “FENDI Team Wang” logo.

To celebrate the launch of the Fendi x Jackson Wang range, artist Oscar Wang has designed an exhibition in Chengdu, China at the entrance of Shamao Street. The art installation titled “FENDIDI” is a FF logo-printed panda inside a glass cube that will be open from today until July 28. If you take a closer look, you’ll see that the panda is wearing the collaboration’s Baguette bag and the glass walls are printed with writing that says, “F IS FOR… FUN, FRIENDS, FANTASY, FUNK.” Along with the art piece, the artist has created custom panda emoji gifs and a campaign video that you can watch below.

The Fendi x Jackson Wang collection is available on July 20 at select Hong Kong and Macau stores and also online on Fendi’s online shop. In related news, take a look at Fendi’s new pink velvet FF logo backpack.
