Celebrate the Year of the Rat With These Branded Red Pockets

From Nike and adidas to Gucci and Celine.

Along with limited edition launches, a variety of fashion, sportswear and jewelry labels are celebrating Lunar New Year with branded red pockets. From Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Fendi to Nike, adidas and BAPE, we gathered some of our favorite picks this year.

For those who are unfamiliar, red pockets, otherwise known as Lai See or Hong Bao, are an East Asian tradition where elders gift money to younger relatives to wish for luck and happiness. Although monetary gifts can now also be received and sent through apps like WeChat thanks to technology, red pockets are a must when it comes to celebrating the holiday.

With the Chinese Zodiac falling on the Year of the Rat, Gucci adds Mickey Mouse to its iteration, while Louis Vuitton adorns its envelope with a golden rat. Fendi goes over the top with a flowery case, as Riccardo Tisci‘s new logo is stamped on Burberry‘s take on the red pocket. Instead of sticking to the red color, HBX opted for a metallic look while BAPE printed its signature camouflage print all over.

Scroll down below to peep red pockets from some of our favorite brands. While you’re here, check out Prada’s campaign celebrating the holiday.
