This Brand Is Selling Non-Biodegradable Rubbish This Black Friday

A new campaign standing against overconsumption and the accumulation of plastic waste.

While Black Friday is the perfect excuse to treat ourselves and our loved ones, it’s important to remember that the end-of-year shopping season causes some of the biggest harm to Mother Nature. To stand against overconsumption, sustainable collective Public Fibre is launching its “Buy More Rubbish” campaign, selling non-biodegradable waste as high-end products.

According to a report by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, plastic waste in the ocean will outweigh fish by 2050. Shedding light on this environmental issue, “Buy More Rubbish” showcases ocean polluters like plastic bottles, food wrappers, face masks, straws and aluminum cans as e-commerce products. Working as a fundraising campaign, the initiative will be contributing proceeds to The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit organization that develops technologies to get rid of harmful waste in the ocean.

Head over to Public Fibre’s official website to learn more and to take part in the cause. An empty plastic bottle retails for £5 GBP (approximately $6.70 USD), while a rubber tire is priced at £50 GBP (approximately $67 USD).
