The North Face Fuses Fashion and Functionality for Its SS20 Black Series Range

Highlighting femininity and innovation.

Following a partnership with MM6 Maison Margiela which debuted at London Fashion Week, The North Face has now introduced its latest Black Series collection for the Spring/Summer 2020 season. The functional range, focusing on femininity this time around, stays true to the outerwear brand’s heritage and innovative nature.

“With Black Series, we have created the next step in the evolution of The North Face as a brand that dares to disrupt and push the boundaries of innovation to deliver timeless designs that are built to last a lifetime,” the label’s Head of Global Creative Tim Hamilton commented in a press release. The collection takes inspiration from The North Face’s archival pieces, blending the mountain and city backdrop for timeless creations. To build a lineup fusing fashion and technology together, Hamilton tapped designers with backgrounds from haute couture as well as technical sportswear.

Featuring both female-centered styles and unisex looks, the campaign is fronted by athletes including climbers Margo Hayes and Matty Hong. Standout items include the signature Mountain Light jacket, as well as trench coats and bodysuits.

Scroll through the gallery above for the full range, which is slated to drop at select The North Face Urban Exploration stores in Asia including Hong Kong‘s Pacific Place and K11 Musea, China‘s Sanlitun in Beijing and Taiwan‘s A11 on February 26.
