An Exclusive Look at Girls Are Awesome x adidas Originals' Capsule Collection

adidas Originals has unveiled its latest collaboration, this time with Copenhagen-based brand and media platform Girls Are Awesome. Founded in 2016 by two fathers inspired to create a more inclusive world for their daughters, Girls Are Awesome aims to increase female visibility in the realms of art, sports and music. The initiative’s new capsule updates unisex apparel and a range of adidas Originals’ iconic Superstar silhouettes — including the Superstar Up and Superstar 360 — with bright detailing and iridescent accents.
The collaboration’s campaign stars a cast of Girls Are Awesome role models such as tattoo artist Simone Klimmeck, skateboarder Laura Kaczmarek and basketball player Nagwa Brown wearing the range. A coaches jacket and overalls arrive in a pink-blue colorway printed with the Girls Are Awesome logo in block lettering. A tracksuit is rendered in vibrant tie-dye gradient, fading from purple to orange to mint green.
As for footwear, the Superstar Up “Girls Are Awesome” is a platform style constructed of a split pink-grey suede upper. An iridescent patch at the heel and orange pull tab add pops of color. The slip-on Superstar 360 features a fully iridescent upper while the classic Superstar is updated with purple on the Three Stripes and neon orange at the heel.
The Girls Are Awesome x adidas Originals capsule collection will launch on April 22 at the adidas website and Girls Are Awesome.
