Gucci Launches Shopping Section for Genderless Clothing and Accessories
Introducing Gucci Mx.
Becoming one of the first major luxury brands to cater to gender-fluid and non-binary customers, Gucci launched Gucci Mx, a shopping section on its website that features genderless and gender neutral clothing and accessories.
Referencing the gender-neutral honorific that extends the scope of Mr. and Ms., Mx allows customers to browse the brand’s collections, beginning with Pre-Fall 2020 and Fall/Winter 2020, presented on non-binary models. Also featured in the category is Gucci’s newly relaunched Jackie bag, which arrives in three different sizes and is revamped with a cross-body shoulder strap for a wider range of carrying options. “The House’s collections emphasize the dissolving lines of the gender divide in the name of self expression,” the Gucci Mx webpage reads. “Playing with the constructive nature of gender, the Mx project underlines the performative nature of what we wear, presenting masculinity and femininity as relative concepts.”
