Meet OPEN/END, Tokyo's Latest Label Highlighting Unbiased Inclusiveness For All

A reminder that everyone is beautiful and shouldn’t be bounded by skin color, race or sexuality.

While the fashion industry has been hit significantly due to the effects of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, young creatives are continuing to voice their passion for important topics such as diversity and gender equality. OPEN/END is the latest brand hailing from Tokyo that aims to raise awareness and visibility within its community, while delivering fun and positive energy for all.

Largely inspired by the idea of unbiased inclusiveness for all, the fledgling label’s focal message is to remind everyone that each person is unique and beautiful, and shouldn’t be bounded by race or sexuality. In addition to its core values, the brand serves as a platform for artists worldwide, collaborating on a project basis for its collections.

For its first-ever drop, OPEN/END has tapped Bangkok-based artist duo Sundae Kids for a range of wardrobe staples and accessories sporting their signature comic illustrations. Items include graphic tees, sweatshirts with matching shorts and a short-sleeved shirt and shorts set, which are all available in unisex sizes. Lifestyle goods and accessories range from mugs and water bottles, to tote bags, shoulder bags and towels. Each product is designed with Sundae Kids’ illustrations focused on gender equality to portray the artist duo and OPEN/END’s stance on the issue. In addition to the collaboration, OPEN/END has also teamed up with artist Cookie Boy for batches of cookies based on Sundae Kids’ graphics.

You can head over to OPEN/END’s online store now to learn more about the label and browse its latest items that are priced from ¥1,800 JPY (approximately $17 USD) to ¥12,800 JPY (approximately $119 USD). All items are available on a pre-order basis to reduce production waste. You can also pick your own combination of cookies through the brand’s web store.
