Meet Rastah, the Streetwear Label Combining Pakistani Heritage With Craftsmanship

The brand works with local artisans to shorten the supply chain, as part of its commitment to sustainability.

As the global fashion industry struggles to minimize environmental waste and carbon emissions caused in the supply chain, Rastah is an up-and-coming streetwear label committed to sustainability while supporting its local artisans for all of its designs. Marrying traditional influences with contemporary design, the brand aims to pioneer eco-conscious practices in the South Asian fashion world.

Based in Pakistan, Rastah shortens its supply chain by working directly with local artisans. Each item is designed, sourced and produced in Pakistan. To further its sustainability initiative, the fledgling label creates limited quantities of each piece by upcycling leftover fabric. Recently, it has also launched a project to provide food for workers in Lahore, Pakistan who haven’t received daily wage earnings, which was able to feed 200 families in less than a week. The initiative additionally helped support 70 displaced members of the transgender community.

Rastah’s latest editorial, dubbed “Vol. III,” highlights versatile wardrobe staples such as hoodies, shirts and tees sporting vivid patchwork throughout. Highlight items include a matching hoodie and sweatpants set adorned with repurposed mirror-work patches, as well as a handwoven jacket.

Scroll through the gallery above for a closer look at Rastah’s recent collection. You can head over to the label’s website to learn more.
