PANGAIA Launches Exclusive Capsule Collection With Selfridges
Set out to save the bees through the #BeeTheChange initiative.
Sustainable label PANGAIA has partnered with London‘s iconic Selfridges as its first-ever retail partner, to raise awareness of bee conservation. The limited edition collection is dedicated to saving the bees, spreading awareness and continuing to support the #BeeTheChange fund powered by Milkywire.
“Human survival depends on bees, as they pollinate 90% of the world’s food supply. Today, bee colonies are on the decline. They are a species recently declared as the most important on our planet. And we’re losing them at an incredibly fast rate,” states the collection’s press release, emphasising that the fund is set out to support grassroots NGOs that are working to preserve and protect vulnerable and endangered bee species across the world.
The exclusive collection takes inspiration from bees, as well as the iconic Selfridges yellow, and sees hoodies, track pants and shorts made from recycled cotton and tees all crafted from seaweed fiber. Seaweed is both carbon neutral and 100% biodegradable, and acts as a staple in PANGAIA’s collections. The pieces are also dyed using environmentally friendly dyes and a recycled water system, reducing toxic impact on the planet.
